The Marywood University Department of Nursing seeks two full-time tenure or clinical track faculty (rank commensurate with experience and credentials), for positions beginning August 2014.
Teaching responsibilities for one position will include medical/surgical including high acuity nursing courses, while those for the second position will include maternal/child with a pediatric nursing emphasis. Further background to teach case management, informatics, healthcare policy, or genetics content is desirable.
Responsibilities include: didactic and clinical teaching in undergraduate courses, student advising, departmental and university service as well as community and professional nursing involvement. The ideal candidates will be highly motivated educators who value teaching in a small, student-focused program of positive faculty who are committed to providing high-quality, timely, and innovative professional nursing education. The Department currently offers a BSN program with three tracks: traditional pre-licensure, RN to BSN completion, and LPN to BSN completion. Successful candidates also will demonstrate evidence of teaching experience, and should be competent in the effective use of technology effective and other innovative classroom strategies. Simulation experience would be beneficial.

Qualified candidates will have an MS in Nursing with a concentration in a designated area specialty and clinical experience in that area. A Doctoral degree or current enrollment is preferred, although applicants willing to commit to doctoral study would be considered.
