The Department of Mathematical Sciences at Marywood University invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Computer Science for a tenure-track appointment beginning August 2014.
The department was recently approved for our new programs in Computer Science and Information Security starting in Fall 2014. The new Computer Science faculty will play a significant role in the further development of these new programs and also in the process of seeking initial ABET accreditation and NSA/DHS cybersecurity and information assurance designation. Prior experience with curriculum development and accreditation issues will be valued.
Responsibility include developing and teaching a broad range of undergraduate and graduate courses, in computer science and information security, and teaching some undergraduate mathematics courses when needed. Student advisement, commitment to scholarly activities, and participation in university, professional, and community service are expected.

Qualified candidates will possess a doctoral degree (by the date of appointment) in Computer Science or a closely related field, with research expertise in areas such as operating systems, networking, security, database management, or web applications. Appllicants with prior college teach experience are preferred.
