Music Professor Heads State Concert Band Festival
Marywood's David Romines, D.M.A., assistant professor of music education, recently served as the lead evaluator for the Colorado Bandmasters Association State Concert Band Festival. The goal of the event was to provide guidance to Colorado's band directors for continued program improvements.
"It was a grueling five days, but the evaluation team was pleased to be a part of this annual initiative," Romines explained. "The critical assessments provided by this event are leading to tremendous musical advances and support for instrumental music programs. The five host bands' rehearsal and performance facilities were amazing."
More than 80 concert bands from every region of Colorado performed for five days in five cities. The groups received written and recorded assessments from a nationally-recognized team of adjudicator/clinicians that included Dr. Scott Jones (The Ohio State University) and Dr. Christopher Nichols (Colorado State University).
