Marywood University will host an illustrated lecture by environmental artist Patricia Brentano. This year's featured speaker in the Fresh Perspectives-New Solutions: Visiting Environmental Artist Series, Ms. Brentano will be speaking at Marywood's Comerford Auditorium in the University's Center for Natural and Health Sciences.
Patricia Brentano, the recipient of numerous awards and artist residencies, is a New Jersey artist known for her environmental pieces. Her recent "Missing Trees" outdoor installation commemorates woodland lost unnecessarily to overdevelopment. Her award-winning "Endangered Birds" calls attention to the plight of threatened species, at the same time inspiring a sense of environmental responsibility.
According to the artist, "My work is about observation, exploration, and a deep spiritual attachment to the natural world. I want to create skillful, innovative work that communicates environmental responsibility and visual literacy."
The lecture is free and open to the public. Ms. Brentano will be available to speak with the audience at a reception following.
