|Where:||Sette LaVerghetta Center for Performing Arts, Main Theatre|
This student performance of Beth Henley's Crimes of the Heart teems with humanity and humor as it examines the plight of three young Mississippi sisters betrayed by their passions. Winner of the 1981 Pulitzer Prize, Crimes of the Heart is warm-hearted, irreverent, zany, and brilliantly imaginative.
The play will be staged three quarter in the round on the stage, which means the audience will sit on the stage, surrounding the acting area on three sides. This creates an intimate space out of Marywood’s large theatre and will make the audience feel like they are in the play.
The cast includes:
The artistic staff includes David Zarko, director; Judith Snyder, production manager and scenic designer; Mary Anne Swords-Greene, costume designer; Robert Lozada, lighting designer; and Patrick Toomey, sound designer.
The management staff includes Dr. Paulette Merchel, producer; Victoria Moshy, stage manager; Jade Litaker and Amanda Hirschler, assistant stage managers; and Rebecca Darling, properties manager.
Tickets are $10 for regular admission, $7 for senior citizens, and free to I.H.M. Sisters and anyone with a Marywood ID. To make reservations, call the box office at (570) 348-6211 ext. 6097. For more information, call (570) 961-4517 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
