ALLY Training

On Friday Nov. 7th there will be an ALLY Training

An Ally is one who will be understanding, supportive, and trustworthy if a gay, lesbian, bisexual, or transgender person needs help, advice, or just someone with whom they can talk.

 Training begins at 2:30pm until 4:45pm Friday, Nov. 7th in the Swartz Center, Conference Rm B, Marywood University.  The training is free.

Volunteer Opportunity - Game Day

Volunteers are needed
to assist with an activity day for local middle school students with special needs from Wallenpaupack and the students who attend Marywood's SOAR (Students On-campus Achieving Results) Program.

Come for the entire time or one of the time slots below

9:00-10:00   set up
10:15-11:15  games in Marywood Gym
11:15-1:00    lunch and socializing, clean up

About 16 volunteers are needed to work in pairs to run 8 game stations and give out prizes. Games include bowling, mini golf, spoon race, relay race with pumpkin around cones, ring toss ping pong bounce and more!  After the games are complete, volunteers will eat lunch (on your own meal plan) and socialize with the students in the gym cafe area.

Thanksgiving Adopt-A-Family Project Underway!

Sponsor a family this Thanksgiving and help provide them with their holiday meal by purchasing the items to fill a basket or by making a monetary donation.  The registration deadline to sponsor a family is November 14.  Go to Campus Ministry Website for a sponsor registration form.  Please return the form to the Campus Ministry Office.  If you would like to volunteer your time to help prepare and/or deliver the baskets please email

We Received 60 Cans Already!! October/November Cranberry Sauce Challenge!

Let's get a head start on our Thanksgiving Adopt-A-Family program by collecting 200 cans of cranberry sauce before November 11.  Boxes are at Campus Ministry, Human Resources and around campus.

Singers Needed - Providence United Presbyterian Church

Providence United Presbyterian Church is in need of singers; rehearsal is Tuesday nights, 6-7 p.m., Sunday service is 10 a.m.  Compensation is available to those that can assist the singing program.  If you are interested, contact the music director at 570-650-7677 or call the church office at 570-346-0804.

Big Friends/Little Friends - Volunteer Opportunity

Big Friends/Little Friends is an after-school program at Valley View Housing Development. Children need mentors to help them with their homework and plan fun activities. Volunteers are needed on Mondays and/or Thursdays, 2:30-4:40 p.m. Transportation is provided. Help children be the best they can be. Sign up in Campus Ministry, Swartz Center for Spiritual Life.
