Commissioning Service

This Sunday, at the 7:30pm Liturgy, over 35 members of our Marywood Community will receive a blessing as we celebrate their call to service this summer.  Students and faculty will serve in the following communities:
- Knox County, Maine with Habitat for Humanity
- Guatemala with the Friends of San Lucas
- Poland with the Kosciuszko Foundation Teaching in English in Poland program
- Pittsburgh with Americorps
- Tanzania with the Sisters' Leadership Development Institute

Any other students, staff or faculty engaged in service experiences this summer are welcome to attend. To RSVP email aobrien@marywood.edu


Help the People of Nepal

Marywood is partnering with Catholic Relief Services to help the people of Nepal. Donations can be sent to Sr. John Michele in the Campus Ministry Office. Checks should be made out to Catholic Relief Services. All donations will be sent to CRS and designated for Nepal. Online donations can be made by going to http://university.crs.org/blog/crs-responds-nepal-earthquake and scrolling to Marywood University URL.


Join Us for the Empty Bowl Project! Friday, May 1

Help Zeta Omicron and Net Impact raise money and awareness in the fight to end hunger in Scranton by purchasing a handmade ceramic bowl with a scoop of ice cream for $10 this Friday! All bowls have been made with love by Marywood art students and faculty and all proceeds will go to Meals on Wheels. Join us at Downtown Scranton's First Friday May 1st at the Entrepreneurial Launchpad at 507 Linden Street from 6-9 to get your bowl! Thank you for your support; together we can make a difference.  All proceeds benefit Meals On Wheels of NEPA.


Catholic Relief Services Ambassador Program

Are you interested in working to build a constituency for the global poor through Fair Trade, Food Security, Global Health and Emergency Aid?  If you are, consider becoming a CRS Ambassador for next year.  Fill out the CRS Ambassador Application and return it to Sr. John Michele Southwick at  Campus Ministry.  Email Sister John Michele, southwick@marywood.edu with any questions. Help feed the hungry, help those in crisis and help with developmental aid around the world.
