Fall 2012 Marywood Women Run Away with CSAC President’s Cup
For the second straight year, Marywood University claimed the Colonial States Athletic Conference Women's President's Cup Championship for the 2011-12 Seasons. The CSAC President's Cup is awarded annually to the men's, women's, and overall athletics program with the highest competitive rating, based on both regular season and conference playoff performance. Marywood took the Women's President's Cup honors after achieving 78.84 percent of potential points. The Pacers took home the women's cross country championship, while reaching the CSAC finals in women's lacrosse and qualifying for the CSAC playoffs in softball, women's basketball, women's tennis, women's soccer, and women's volleyball.
Women’s Tennis Won its 10th Conference Title
Men’s Soccer Team Visits Spain, France
Marywood University’s men’s soccer team went on its first-ever international tour. The team played four games and took advantage of numerous sightseeing opportunities. They arrived in Madrid and toured parts of the city, including the Bernabeu Stadium, home of Real Madrid, before visiting the historic city of Toledo and then departing for the beach town of San Sebastian. After a stop in Figueres, home of Salvador Dali, the team arrived in Barcelona. There, the group saw the architectural works of Antoni Gaudi, including the world-famous Sagrada Familia church, and toured Camp Nou, the largest stadium in Europe and home of professional soccer team FC Barcelona. |
