Marywood's Psychological Services Center will offer free, confidential anxiety screenings on Thursday, February 6, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., in the McGowan Center for Graduate and Professional Studies. The free screenings are open to the public and to all ages.
Anxiety is a normal human emotion that everyone experiences at times. Many people feel anxious, or nervous, when faced with a problem at work, before taking a test, or making an important decision. Anxiety disorders, however, are different. They can cause such distress that it interferes with a person's ability to lead a normal life.
The anxiety screenings at Marywood will include an educational presentation and written self-test, a private meeting with a mental health professional, and, if appropriate, a referral. For more information, call the Psychological Services Center at (570) 348-6269.
