Financial Assistance

Marywood University has a number of unique and creative financial aid alternatives for students and indeed most of our students receive some level of assistance.

The Physician Assistant Program at Marywood provides timely information on specialty grants and scholarships for the PA and allied health profession. Additionally, the program holds a financial aid symposium each semester to provide an update on new and emerging resources.

The Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary award a merit based scholarship to all gradute level physician assistant students. The amount of this scholarship varies in amount from year to year. There is no application required for this scholarship.  Notification of the award will be included with acceptance to the program.

Marywood University Physician Assistant Program was fortunate to be awarded $704,000 from HRSA for Expansion of Physician Assistant Training.  This award is for PA students entering the professional phase who are interested in working in primary care (family practice, general internal medicine or pediatrics) after graduation.  Each year four students will be selected to receive $22,000/year for two years. This scholarship will be available for classes entering 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014.  Application for this scholarship involves completing an application, writing a 500 word statement concerning personal interest in primary care, three letters of recommendation specifically relating the student's interest in primary care, and agreeing to work for five years in primary care upon graduation (this involves signing a letter of intent). Please contact the program for further information.

For additional information, contact Marywood's Financial Aid Department.
