Dr. Clymer was honored at the student faculty meeting last week by naming our annual alumni presentation the "Dr. Jay Clymer Alumni Presentation and Award." The alumni recipient this year was Biotech graduate Kristen Canterella Katchur. Kristen presented her graduate research. While pursuing his Ph.D. at Lehigh University, former Biotech graduate Chuck Fisher had the opportunity to meet Martin Chalfie the 2008 co-winner of the Nobel Prize. Dr. Chalfie won the Nobel prize for his discovery of GFP (green fluorescent protein). GFP is commonly used as a tool in many of the teaching and research labs at Marywood. Chuck and Dr. Chalfie are in the center of the picture surrounded by members of the Falk Lab.
