Office of Academic Success
The Office of Academic Success provides a variety of services to the Marywood Community, including:
- Retention & Advising
- Peer tutoring (individual tutoring, small group tutoring, and a drop-in center)
- Writing center (professional writing support and drop-in center)
- Assistive technology
- Disability services
ATM and Personal Finances
The PNC Bank’s Automated Teller Machines are conveniently located in the Nazareth Student Center and in the Regina Hall Desk area. These machines can be used for withdrawals and transfers from any bank in the nationwide PLUS system. Additionally, the Nazareth Student Center machine can be used by PNC Bank customers to make deposits and payments.
Students are encouraged to obtain an ATM Card for ready access to cash for emergencies and daily needs. Families may make deposits at a home bank for cash to be available to students on campus. Personal checks may be cashed at the Cashier’s Office for a limit of $50.00 per day, for a nominal service charge. Checks must be made payable to “Cash.” Picture identification is required. Two-party checks cannot be accepted. A service charge will be incurred for each check returned by the bank for any reason.
The Bookstore is a modern, self-service store in Nazareth Student Center, which carries a complete stock of all required and recommended books selected by the faculty. School supplies, university-imprint clothing, novelties, convenience items, gift items and general books are available. The Bookstore coordinates the sale of class rings and the ordering of caps and gowns.
Their new website makes it very easy to find the course material you need, as well as purchase books and merchandise online!

Clubs & Organizations
Student Activities and Leadership Development (SALD) offers over 60 extra-curricular registered clubs and organizations. All clubs and organizations are student run, under the advisement of a faculty or staff member. All registered clubs are open to membership for all Marywood students. Computer Labs are located at over fifteen areas, to which all students have public access. They are located on the first floor of Madonna Hall and second floor of Regina Hall. There are two labs located in the McGowan Center. There is also a computer area located in Nazareth Hall (Student Center). Computer labs are located on the third floor of the Learning Resources Center (Library) and also on the first floor of the Center for Natural and Health Sciences. Computer labs are also located on the second floor of the Studio Arts Center and the first floor of the Visual Arts Center. The Performing Arts Center has computer labs on the first and second floors. In addition, the computer lab in Loughran Hall is available as a drop in facility when classes are in session.
There are various places to eat around Marywood's campus. For example, the First Stop located in Regina Hall, the Atrium located in the McGowan Center, and the Main Dining Room located in Nazareth Hall are eateries located around the campus. E-mail Announcements for Students
The Marywood University's student mailing list (containing email addresses of all Marywood students) is the University's way how to inform the student community about activities, events, and general announcements happening at Marywood or in the immediate area. Students are automatically subscribed to this mailing list using their Marywood e-mail account. All students are encouraged to read those emails daily

e2campus Notification System
e2campus is a state-of-the-art notification system that sends notifications instantly and simultaneously to subscribers.
All users receive these notifications:
- Weather cancellations and delays
- Emergency conditions
- Changes in parking conditions
Subscribers can also register to receive optional notifications from Student Activity Center.
Student Health Services
Your health plays an important role in how well you achieve your academic, social and personal goals during your college years. The professional staff of Health Services is committed to meeting today's highest health standard. Registered Nurses are available to provide health care that is sensitive to the needs of all students. The Health Services is located on the terrace level in Loughran Hall.
All enrolled students are required to carry a valid Marywood University photo identification card while on campus, through the completion of their degree program. This form of identification is needed for access to library materials, computer facilities, recreational facilities, and to attend social and cultural activities. Meal plan choices also are encoded on the ID card along with access to specified facilities.
Identification cards are issued without charge in the Madonna Hall Lobby, Monday through Friday – 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. A $15.00 fee will be assessed for replacing a lost card. A $20.00 fee will be assessed for replacing a lost proximity I.D. card.
Library - Learning Resources Center
Marywood Library holds 216,191 volumes, 378,148 items on microfilm, 43,342 media items, 797 active periodical subscriptions in print and microfilm format plus over 26,449 electronic journal titles. The Learning Resources Center houses the Library, User Support Services, Academic Computing, and the Radio & Television Studios.

Lost and Found
The Campus Safety Office should be contacted regarding lost and found property.
Lounges for student use are available in several buildings across the campus. The Fireplace Lounge in the Nazareth Student Center, and the Study Grounds in the Learning Resources Center provide comfortable areas for studying, computer work, tutoring, group meetings and relaxing. In addition to several computer lounges across campus, a drop-in computer lounge in Loughran Hall is available 24 hours a day when the residence halls are open.
Lounges can be found in the bottom floors of Madonna, Regina and Loughran Halls and allow 24 hour visitation. The lounge on the first floor of Nazareth Hall features Pool, Air Hockey, Ping-Pong, and Foosball tables. The lounges have televisions and are available to all students. They are a nice place to study or to enjoy your favorite television show.
Department Student Mail Boxes
Students in certain departments will have their own mailbox on campus. In their mail box they will receive letters from their advisors, department chairs, and also other important messages. Students should check these at least once a week. Elementary, Early Childhood, and Special Education majors mailboxes are located in the Curriculum Lab.
Clean Air Policy
The University is committed to providing a safe and healthy environment for students, faculty, staff and guests. Therefore, Clean Air Policy prohibits smoking and other uses of tobacco products
- in all University buildings;
- on all University athletics fields and spectator areas;
- in any University vehicle; and
- at any other place on campus, unless the University has clearly designated it as a smoking area.
Dry Campus Policy
In the United States, you must be 21 years old to drink alcohol. The sale or service of alcohol to anyone who has not yet reached the age of 21 is prohibited. Marywood University is a "dry campus" - no alcohol permitted. This policy is strictly enforced.
Student Activity Crew (SAC)
SAC website lists all of the activities that occur on campus during the current month. Some events may include movies being shown, club meetings, concerts, blood drives, etc.

Marywood is an NCAA Division III institution and a member of the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) and the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC). Pacers sport schedules are challenging and include contests against schools encompassing a wide geographic area. Seventeen (17) varsity sports are sponsored: eight men's (baseball, basketball, cross country, golf, lacrosse, soccer, swimming & diving, and tennis) and nine women's sports (basketball, cross country, field hockey, lacrosse, soccer, softball, swimming & diving, tennis, and volleyball). Marywood University offers a wide variety of sports clubs that can be considered the first step towards future varsity sponsorship.

Weather Delay/ Early Closing
Although Marywood University is committed to keeping its campus open at all times, inclement weather may result in necessary cancellations. Cancellation announcements will specify classes, offices, and/or special events. Announcements are also made on many local television and radio stations.

If a particular class does not follow a standard starting time, the individual instructor should determine the meeting time closest to the standard for that day of the week.
The Wood Word
The Wood Word is Marywood's offical student newspaper. It is available to all students free-of-charge.
