On Sunday, December 7th at noon a gathering took place at the Lackawanna County Courthouse to call attention to the symbolism of our United States Flag.
The Student Veterans Alliance (SVA) supported the veterans and others that attended this scheduled event and those that chose not to attend, but with the recent events that occurred on the campus of Marywood University we felt it would be counterproductive for the SVA to publicly attend this event. Please know that we stood beside those who were there in their respect and reverence of the American flag. Please read the statement from the Student Veterans Alliance in response to the events that occurred this past Tuesday. The Student Veteran Alliance and the Office Military and Veteran Services would like to remind the community of our annual Veterans Day Appreciation Celebration and Flags for the Fallen display, which are supported by Marywood University each year. We would like to take this opportunity to extend an invitation to these events next year on November 11th.
