Director of Nursing
Summary of Duties
The Marywood University Department of Nursing seeks an experienced visionary leader to serve as full-time director for its BSN Nursing Program beginning August, 2017 (rank commensurate with experience and credentials).
The director will be responsible for the hiring and supervision of full-time, part-time, and adjunct faculty, program development, staff development, implementation of the curriculum, and correspondence with accrediting and governing bodies, as well as day to day operations of the nursing program. Other duties include teaching responsibilities, as well as professional development and scholarship activities, student advising, university and community service, and involvement with professional nursing organizations.
The Nursing department currently offers a BSN program with three tracks: traditional pre-licensure, RN to BSN completion, and LPN to BSN completion. The ideal candidate will be a highly motived, experienced, and self-directed visionary leader who values teaching as well as administration of a small, student-focused program of positive faculty who are committed to providing high-quality, resourceful, and innovative professional nursing education. Successful candidates should demonstrate evidence of administrative experience, teaching experience and be competent in the effective use of technology and other innovative classroom strategies.

Qualified candidates are required to have a PhD or DNP as well as a Master of Science in Nursing degree, along with administrative, college teaching, and department director experience.
Work Experience Requirements:
Candidates must also have experience with accreditation, state licensing boards, and other regulatory requirements of a department of nursing.
