Head Athletic Trainer

Summary of Duties

Applications are invited for the full-time, 10- month Head Athletic Trainer position at Marywood University. The primary responsibilities include: coordination of the athletic training services provided for 22 varsity sports including coverage of all practices, home contests, select away contests and special events; supervision of the athletic training professional staff; management of all training needs including referrals to medical professionals when necessary; administration and documentation of all records; maintenance of the training room, equipment and supplies; and, supervision, when requested, of athletic training students from the Athletic Training Program of the University.
 
Marywood is an independent, comprehensive, Catholic university with more than 3100 students. Located in a residential area of Scranton, Pa with easy access to the Pocono Mountains, the University features a new “state of the art” athletics and wellness facility and is within a two hour drive of New York City and Philadelphia and about three hours away from many of the strongest high school programs on the East Coast. The University enrolls approximately 1900 students in more than fifty-five undergraduate programs and approximately 1300 graduate students in 33 master’s degree,  As well as terminal degree programs, including a Psy.D. ED.S., M.F.A and an inter-disciplinary Ph.D. with five specializations.


Requirements

  • Educational:

    The successful applicant will have a minimum of a bachelor's degree and BOC certification with eligibility for Pennsylvania licensure and be competent with technology resources and treatments; additional credentials preferred include 3 years experience as a certified athletic trainer, ideally at the Division III college/university level, and demonstrated success with supervision of certified athletic trainers and athletic training students.
