Seasonal Residential Hall Desk Staff


16 hrs. per wk; 42 wks per year; 7:30 am - 4:00 pm

Summary of Duties

Monitor the lobby area of the Residence Hall and enforce visitation/sign-in policies of the University Housing.  Answer office phone, dispatch officers as needed including 911 and fire alarms, log all calls.  Assist with key dissemination and collection.  Assist students when locked out; be knowledgeable and familiar with University resources and helpful to other departments, working well with the public is a must.  Answer calls on the university switchboard as assigned.  Be attentive to desk responsibilities at all times (No excessive time on cell phone, testing or computer) 


  • Educational:

    High School Diploma.   

  • Essential Elements:

    Must be certified in CPR, AED and First Aid

  • Other Elements:

    Must be ready and able to act as a first responder in a variety of emergency situations, including medical emergencies and provide safety for members of the University community.  When dictated by the situation, contact outside emergency resources and assist in performance of duties.
