Assistant Professor of School Psychology
Summary of Duties
The Marywood University Department of Psychology/Counseling seeks an Assistant Professor of School Psychology for a full-time, tenure track position beginning August, 2014.
Primary responsibilities of this position will involve teaching, research, and service in a specialist level program seeking NASP accreditation. Applicants with specialty in the areas of mental health counseling, student-based consultation, and working in a three tiered model of service delivery are particularly desirable. Full-time teaching load is 21 credits for the academic year. Successful candidates will provide evidence of effective teaching, a minimum of 3 years of practice in the PK-12 setting as a school psychologist, and potential for scholarly growth.
The Department of Psychology/Counseling is in the Reap College of Education and Human Development. The Department offers undergraduate, and master’s programs in psychology, as well as an APA-accredited Psy.D. program in clinical psychology and CACREP-accredited graduate level counseling programs.
Marywood University is a comprehensive Catholic university sponsored by the Congregation of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary and located in northeastern Pennsylvania.
Candidates will have a Doctoral degree in school psychology (Ph.D., Ed.D.) from an APA or NASP approved doctoral training program in school psychology and NCSP status.
