Summary of Duties
The Athletic Training and Exercise Science Department at Marywood University invites applications for a 9 month clinical faculty position at the instructor/assistant professor level.
The Athletic Training and Exercise Science Department supports undergraduate majors: Athletic Training (CAATE accredited) and Exercise Science. The University also supports a graduate program in Nutrition and Sports Nutrition & Exercise Science.
Responsibilities include: teaching undergraduate/graduate courses for all majors in the department, student advising, commitment to scholarly activity and university, professional and community service. Teaching responsibilities might include, but are not limited to: athletic training and exercise science courses, exercise testing and prescription (undergraduate and graduate), exercise and chronic disease, and activity classes.
The university houses an athletic and wellness center which includes classrooms, a weight training facility, running track, athletic training room and lab. In addition, the university supports a Human Physiology Laboratory.
Marywood University is an independent, comprehensive, Catholic University founded by the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Scranton, PA.
The successful per annum applicant at the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor (non- tenure track) will possess an earned doctorate (ABD considered) in a related field. The successful applicant at the rank of Instructor (non-tenure track) will possess a master’s degree in a related field. All applicants must be BOC certified athletic trainers for a minimum of three (3) years and be eligible for Pennsylvania licensure. Applicants at the rank of Assistant Professor should also demonstrate a history of scholarship.
