Summary of Duties
Assist with running both the English and Foreign Languages Department (30 hours per week) and the Honors Program (5 hours per week). Assists with faculty contracts, salary requests, secretarial work, appointments, curriculum review, filling out master schedules, pulling reports(e.g. student enrollment), organizing files, taking department minutes, book orders, correspondence, printing, room reservations, help monitoring budget, ordering supplies, updating website, recruiting activities, assisting students, faculty and visitors. Helps organize Summer Creative Writing Camp, Bookswap, Honors Dinner, Undergraduate Research Forum, Scholastic Writing Awards, department speakers, and other such events. Honors work requires an average of 5 hours per week (organizing events, communicating with Honors students, assisting with registration etc.) Creative Writing camp requires about 5 hours per week from March to July, plus the week of the camp. Bookswap will require about 15 hours each semester..
High School Education or GED required.
Organization, ability to oversee multiple tasks simultaneously, maintaining faculty files, syllabus records, book orders, etc. Proficiency needed in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
