The Marywood University Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders seeks an Assistant/Associate Professor for a tenure-track position beginning January or August, 2014.
Responsibilities include teaching in the areas of child language, neurogenics, and fluency as well as core courses as determined by the needs of the department; supervising clinical practicum experiences and possible coordination of externships; engaging in research and scholarly endeavors; sharing responsibilities for departmental governance and service.
The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders is in the Reap College of Education and Human Development. It offers a five-year program that includes a pre-professional phase (undergraduate) and professional phase (graduate) leading to a master's degree in speech-language pathology. The master's program in SLP is accredited by ASHA's Council on Academic Accreditation. A full service speech-language-hearing clinic is located in the McGowan Center for Professional Studies.
Marywood University is a comprehensive Catholic university sponsored by the Congregation of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary and located in northeastern Pennsylvania.
Qualified candidates will possess a Ph.D., Ed.D., or clinical doctorate in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders, a CCC-SLP, and PA state licensure (or eligibility). ABD candidates will be considered.
