Help Desk Associate (Internal Only)

Hours:

35 hrs per wk, 52 wks per yr.

Summary of Duties

Provide basic software, hardware, printer, to include GoPrint systems, and overall technology support via phone, email and in person to Marywood University students, faculty, staff and administrators.  Troubleshoot issues in classrooms and other technology rooms as needed.  Use Web Help Desk software to enter, direct, monitor, and close tickets.  Monitor, catalog, store, keep track of, and check the condition of equipment that can be signed out to users.  Work with other OIT staff and/or attend relevant training sessions for learning new and updated technologies to better answer questions and solve users’ problems regarding supported technologies.



Requirements

  • Educational:

    High School Diploma required.  Prior help desk experience, particularly in a college or university setting, is desired. 

  • Essential Elements:

    Excellent communication skills; strong customer service background; appropriate people etiquette is essential.  Must be able to identify and determine how problems can best be solved quickly and effectively.  Knowledge of the following hardware and software necessary: PC and Macintosh operating systems, printer usage and troubleshooting, internet connections and troubleshooting, Microsoft Office, Google Apps, ERP Systems such as Colleague, Web Help Desk, Moodle, MarywoodYOU Portals.
