Description of Duties:

St. Joseph's Center, Adult Day Program, located at 320 South Blakely Street, Dunmore, is open daily from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.  A schedule can be arranged for 2 to 3 hours daily depending on the students' availability.  The Adult Day Program provides services to individuals over the age of 21 who have intellectual disabilities.  The goal of ADP is to further skills and socialization in a stimulating setting that is able to meet personal needs for growth and development.  The duties assigned to the work study student include working with individuals in close supervision of staff.  This might include physical, art or music activities, assistance at meals and general companionship.  Tasks might include clerical assistance with record keeping, maintaining files, answering the phone, organizing supplies, and/or serving as a receptionist.  Regulations require completion of certain clearance, annual physical and bi-annual Mantoux.  Arrangement can be made for this to be completed at no cost to the student.
