Mark E. Rodgers, DSW, LCSW, BCD serves as Dean of the College of Health & Human Services. From 2004-2011 he served as Dean of the Graduate School of Social Work at Dominican University in Illinois. Prior to Dominican, he was for 21 years the Department Chairperson and founding Director of the MSW Program at Monmouth University in New Jersey.

Dr. Rodgers has over 30 years of social work practice and administrative experience in higher education.  His scholarship interests include international  social work, human trafficking prevention, health and social welfare policy, community development and veterans' affairs.  Dr. Rodgers has written professional articles, conference proceedings, book chapters and newsletters as well as books on veterans benefit policy and international internships.  Additionally, he has made over 230 conference and workshop presentations at local, regional, state, national and international levels.

In 1998, Dr. Rodgers led the establishment of the first MSW program in America with an international/community development concentration.  His vision and work since that time has led to the establishment of field internships in Latvia, Bangladesh, Singapore, Switzerland, Canada, Ghana, Mexico, Ecuador, Ireland, South Africa, Kenya, Ethiopia, India, Romania, Tanzania and The Philippines.  In 2004, Dr. Rodgers was awarded a Grant from the US Embassy in Latvia to develop a Human Trafficking Prevention Training for Trainers program for Latvian faculty, judges, prosecutors, state and municipal police officers, border guards, social workers and psychologists.  Additionally, in 2004, Dr. Rodgers was recognized for his work in Latvia by receiving the Latvian National Government, Ministry of Education and Science Award.  In 2006, Rodgers was named the Social Worker of the year by the National Association of Social Worker (NASW) Illinois Three Rivers Chapter as recognition of his leadership in international social work.

Dr. Rodgers serves on several editorial boards and reviews articles for the on-line Journal of Global Social Work Practice.  He served as Chair of the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) Commission on Global Work until 2013.  As of 2012, Dr. Rodgers was elected President of the North American and Caribbean Association of Schools of Social Work (NACASSW).  As a regional President of NACASSW, Dr. Rodgers serves as Vice-President of the International Association of Schools of Social Work (IASSW) and serves as a Board Member.

Dr. Rodgers received his BA in Social Work from Eastern University and his MSW & DSW from the University of Pennsylvania.
