About me: I joined Marywood’s admissions team in the spring of 2015. I’m originally from Pleasant Mount, PA and currently live in Dunmore, PA. I earned my B.A. in International Politics from Penn State, my PA teaching certificate from East Stroudsburg University, and my ESL program specialist certification from Marywood.

My interests: Snowboarding is a passion of mine and I’ve been a snowboard and ski instructor at Elk Mountain for the past fifteen years. I enjoy mountain biking, hiking, and pretty much anything that involves being in the outdoors. I also like going to the gym and specifically working on the Olympic lifts. I don’t watch much TV, but I’m looking forward to the next season of House of Cards.

My favorite thing about Marywood: The overall atmosphere at Marywood is outstanding. I believe that the warm sense of community along with the clean and well maintained campus environment make this university truly special. From speaking with students, faculty, and staff it has become clear that Marywood attracts caring, intelligent, and helpful individuals which I believe is why the campus atmosphere is in a league of its own. I was amazed at how quickly I felt at home here at Marywood!

My favorite place on campus: There are a lot of great places on campus including the extraordinary Rotunda and the Center for Athletics and Wellness, but my favorite spot is the Marian Chapel. When life gets hectic, the chapel is the peaceful place to sit and regain some serenity before moving forward with the rest of the day.

You'd never guess: I have skied across an international border. On a ski trip to the Alps, I crossed from Austria into Switzerland on an amazing several mile run. We were told to bring our passports that day because border officers have been known to occasionally patrol the area on skis.

My best advice: Never stop learning and always remain teachable! Work hard on your academics but remember that many of life’s lessons are learned outside the classroom. Life is an ongoing learning process and your potential is limitless. Dream big and then decide to make your dreams a reality.

Never select a school based on rankings or name. There are over 4,000 accredited universities in the U.S. and chances are you have not heard of over 90% of them.
