Undergraduate Studies

Like many students planning for college, you may be uncertain about what program of study is right for you. Perhaps you have multiple academic interests and are having difficulty choosing among the many options available to you. Perhaps you have chosen a career path but are still unsure about its fit or maybe you have no idea about what major or career you wish to pursue. Be assured that a large number of students in American colleges change majors one or more times. At Marywood we believe a thoughtful, careful approach is important to selecting an academic program and, ultimately, a career. Your choice of academic program may include selection of a major or majors, minor or minors, as well as possible elective coursework to enhance your degree. The college years are a wonderful time to learn about yourself, your interests, values and abilities. Coursework during the first year includes liberal arts core requirements for all students. Students develop a clear sense of their academic interests and career direction by being exposed to a variety of fields of study. It is not unusual for a student to select a major based on a course that was taken as a part of the core requirements. Our liberal arts program has been developed to provide a strong base for intellectual growth and personal, social, and spiritual development.
