New Testament Scholar - Monday, March 16 - Free Admission

Amy-Jill Levine, the distinguished New Testament scholar, will speak on the topic "Jesus the Jewish Storyteller: Hearing the Parables in Historical Context," on Monday, March 16, 7:00 p.m.

 in the Burke Auditorium, McGowan School of Business. (Parking is available immediately next to the building, which is on the corner of North River Street and East Union Street in Wilkes-Barre.) Pennies for St. Patty!!

Students going to Tanzania, Africa this summer are organizing a fund-raiser; here's how it goes.  Faculty and staff members (including one of our own, Sister John Michele) have been nominated to become Marywood's St. Pat for 2015.  You are invited to vote for the most highly-regarded among them by placing money in his/her bucket.  The buckets will be located in the Rotunda during the morning hours and at the Dining Room entrance at meal times from March 2 - 5.  You donation is your ballot.  The winner will be determined after dinner on Thursday, March 6 and will wear a St. Patrick's Day outfit all day on March 17.  Come to the buckets and support your selection and our missiion.  Thanks very much!

Collecting Easter Giving Baskets for Friends of the Poor

Take a tag from one of the Easter Giving Baskets located at:  Campus Ministry, outside the Main Dining Room, outside the First Stop Cafe, outside the Atrium, lobby of the Center for Heathy Families, Music, Theatre and Dance Office.  Baskets are due at Campus Ministry, Swartz Center for Spiritual Life by Monday, March 23.

Big Friends/Little Friends - Volunteer Opportunity

Big Friends/Little Friends is an after-school program at Valley View Housing Development. Children need mentors to help them with their homework and plan fun activities. Volunteers are needed on Mondays and/or Thursdays, 2:30-4:40 p.m. Transportation is provided. Help children be the best they can be. Sign up in Campus Ministry, Swartz Center for Spiritual Life.
