About the Instructor:

Miriam (Mimi) Rosetti, C-IAYT, was diagnosed with scoliosis at age 16. Shortly after she underwent corrective surgery fusing a large portion of her spine. Nearly 10 years later, in 2005, while simultaneously pursuing a Masters in Applied Positive Psychology at the University of Pennsylvania and delving into a 500 hour yoga teacher training at YogaWorks, Mimi began to reconnect with her scoliosis and the impact of her surgery.

At that point she apprenticed extensively with yoga for scoliosis expert Deborah Wolk and became the first teacher with a spinal fusion to be certified as a Yoga for Scoliosis teacher through Elise Browning Miller. Mimi spent January 2011 as a student in the medical class at the Iyengar Institute in Pune, India studying with BKS Iyengar and other luminaries. She then completed two years of teacher training at the NYC Iyengar Institute and subsequently co-found Samamkaya Yoga for Back Care and Scoliosis Collective in NYC where she teaches classes and private sessions for people with spinal conditions.

In addition she offers education on living a more toxin-free, pain-free and overall elevated life with the power of Young Living Essential Oils. She and husband, Brian, were born and raised in Scranton. They live in Manhattan with their two daughters, Joanna Moon and Florence Mira.
