Assistant/Associate Professor (#710)

Summary of Duties

The Marywood University Department of Psychology/ Counseling seeks a full-time faculty member to direct its school psychology program beginning January or August 2020. Rank (assistant or associate professor), and type of position (tenure track or professor of practice) are negotiable based on qualifications.



Requirements

  • Educational:

    An earned doctoral degree (or ABD) in school psychology (Ph.D., Ed.D. or Psy.D.) from an APA or NASP approved doctoral training program in school psychology. Certification (or certification eligible) in school psychology in the state of Pennsylvania.

  • Work Experience Requirements:

    Preference will be given to those with experience practicing in the PK-12 setting and to those with higher education teaching experience. Successful candidates will provide potential for effective teaching and scholarly growth, strong interpersonal and organizational skills, and leadership in the discipline. 

  • Essential Elements:

    Primary responsibilities of this position include administering the school psychology program along with teaching, scholarship, and service.

  • Other Elements:

    The Department of Psychology/Counseling offers undergraduate, and master’s programs in psychology, as well as an APA-accredited Psy.D. program in clinical psychology and CACREP-accredited graduate-level counseling programs. The School Psychology program leads to an Educational Specialist (Ed.S.) certification in the state of Pennsylvania. Marywood University has offered school psychology training for more than 75 years.
