Summary of Duties

Title: Program Director for B.S. in Respiratory Therapy (Base) Program

Reports to: Chairperson of Nutrition, Athletic Training, and Exercise Science department


Marywood University is seeking a Program Director for its new B.S. in Respiratory Therapy (Base) Program, whose first entering class is targeted for fall 2019. This is a 12-month renewable position, with the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor. Responsibilities include program administration and development, faculty leadership, communication and collaboration with internal and external affiliates, student support, and teaching.  We also anticipate the addition of a BSRT degree completion program within the year. The program director will receive a minimum of 40% overall administrative release time once the program(s) begin. The founding Program Director will be responsible for the self-study leading to successful accreditation by CoARC.  In addition, the Program Director will provide leadership in the development and implementation of a BSRT degree completion program. Currently, Respiratory Therapy is part of the Nutrition, Athletic Training, and Exercise Science department, in the College of Health and Human Services.


The successful candidate will meet the following qualifications:


Must be a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a minimum of four years.

Must have at least two years experience in clinical respiratory therapy.

Must have at least two years experience teaching in an accredited respiratory therapist program either as an appointed faculty member or as a clinical preceptor.

Must have an earned master’s degree from an accredited academic institution.

Must hold a valid Pennsylvania respiratory therapist license, or be license eligible.

Must hold and maintain current BLS certification.

Must hold and maintain current AARC membership.



Experience in CoARC accreditation process.
