Assessment Coordination and Communication Specialist (revised)

Summary of Duties

  • General responsibilities:

 

Assessment Coordination and Communication Specialist will work with the Assistant Provost to coordinate and implement the University’s assessment plan and communicate assessment data to the various constituencies



Requirements

  • Educational:

    • Required education, training, and experience:

    Bachelor’s degree in a directly related field with a minimum of two years of higher education experience.  Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite including EXCEL. Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively with individuals and groups that have differing levels of knowledge and skills as well as varying roles and responsibilities

    Preferred:  A Master’s degree in a directly related field with higher education experience in research and assessment. Experience working with SPSS

  • Essential Elements:

    Essential duties:

    • assist the Assistant Provost, President’s Council, and Outcomes Assessment Committee in the development and implementation of plans and strategies to track course- and program-level learning outcomes as well as strategic goals;
    • work with the Assistant Provost and other areas on campus (e.g. student life, student success)to develop metrics for assessing student life, academic services, and student success outcomes;
    • work with the department chairpersons and program/unit directors  to design assessment tools, analyze evidence, document analysis, and provide evidence to inform a response to findings;
    • train users on an assessment platform (e.g.Taskstream);
    • assist in analyzing learning outcomes assessment data and writing reports to support ongoing assessments initiatives for departments, as well as all professional/disciplinary accreditations;
    • prepare and disseminate assessment report results for internal and external stakeholders;
    • assist in developing strategies for the effective gathering and sharing of assessment results within and beyond Marywood, including but not limited to web-based dissemination;
    • edit self-study/follow-up reports for professional organizations and accrediting bodies;
    • Other duties as assigned.
