Director of Clinical Education/Instructor of Practice (#709)

Summary of Duties

The Department of Nursing, Respiratory Therapy, and Health Services Administration at Marywood University is seeking this full-time, 12-month position in Respiratory Therapy beginning Summer 2021. Our Department is part of the College of Health & Human Services.

Responsibilities will include: The Director of Clinical Education (DCE) is responsible for all clinical aspects of the program including: the management, administration, continuous review, analysis, and revision, planning, development, and general effectiveness of the clinical portion of the program. The DCE teaches and prepares courses as assigned by the Program Director. The DCE works collaboratively with the Program Director to correlate clinical education with didactic instruction, conduct programmatic and individual course assessments, and ensure overall program effectiveness.

The DCE works collaboratively with the clinical affiliates to support a continuing positive relationship, and provide effective learning environments for the students to participate in clinical education.

Required: An earned Master's Degree in Respiratory Therapy or closely related healthcare field from a regional or national accrediting agency recognized by the US Dept. of Education is required, as is the Registered Respiratory Therapist credential. The candidate must have four years’ experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist with at least two years in clinical respiratory care, as well as two years’ experience teaching in an accredited respiratory care program either as an appointed faculty member or as a clinical preceptor.

Preferred: At least one additional NBRC credential and online teaching experience is preferred.
