Summary of Duties
The Marywood University Department of Communication, Language, and Literature invites applications for a per annum/one-year (renewable) Instructor of Multimedia Communications/Sports Media beginning August 2020.
Qualified candidates must possess a terminal degree (MFA or Ph.D.) in Communications, Sports Media, or a closely related field; ABD considered.
Work Experience Requirements:
Demonstrated excellence in college teaching as a primary instructor required; professional experience in sports media strongly preferred. College media advising experience desirable.
The department seeks an energetic generalist who can teach a range of undergraduate courses in Multimedia Communication, which may include information gathering, multimedia reporting, television production, visual communication, writing for social media, as well as courses in the program's new Sports Media Track, which includes Sports Writing & Reporting, Sports Broadcasting, and others. The candidate may also have an opportunity to advise student media as part of the course load. Student academic advisement, as well as university, professional, and community service are expected.
