Group Leader (#612)


40 hrs. per wk, 52 wks. per yr.

2:00 pm to 12:30 am

Summary of Duties

Provides work direction and supervision for staff involved in maintenance and repair work of facilities and equipment.  Looks over work requests to decide problem and resolution, and delegates’ assignments.  Might monitor or plan jobs completed by outside contractors.  Must be able to read blue prints.  Must have a good working knowledge of electricity from 110 volts to 480 volts.  Understanding of building maintenance including Carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical.  Must have good analytical trouble shooting skills.  Must be able to communicate well both orally and written.  Computer skills including but not limited to MS Word, Excel, and Datastream 7i.  Develop knowledge of building codes UCC, BEC, NFPA.  Must be able to pass Maintenance Technical Skills Test.


  • Educational:

    High School or Trade School diploma or certificates are not necessary, but would be considered.


  • Work Experience Requirements:

    Minimum five years working experience within a mechanical, electrical or carpentry field.  Experience in supervision would be helpful but not required.
