Director of Clinical Education, Respiratory Therapy


Full-Time, 12 month schedule 

Summary of Duties

The Department of Nutrition, Athletic Training & Exercise Science at Marywood University is seeking a full-time 12 month, Director of Clinical Education (DCE) in Respiratory Therapy beginning Fall 2019.  Our department is part of the College of Health and Human Services

The DCE is responsible for all clinical aspects of the program including the management, administration, continuous review, analysis and revision, planning, development, and general effectiveness of the clinical portion of the program.  The DCE teaches and prepares courses as assigned by the Program Director.  The DCE works collaboratively with the Program Director to correlate clinical education with didactic instruction, conduct programmatic and individual course assessments, and ensure overall program effectiveness.  The DCE works collaboratively with the clinical affiliates to support a continuing positive relationship, and provide effective learning environments for the students to participate in clinical education. 


  • Educational:

    Required: An earned Master’s Degree in Respiratory Therapy or closely related healthcare field from a regional or national accrediting agency recognized by the US Dept. of Education.  The Registered Respiratory Therapist credential is required.  The candidate must have four years’ experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist with at least two years in clinical respiratory care.  Must have two years’ experience teaching in an accredited respiratory care program either as an appointed faculty member or as a clinical preceptor.

    Preferred: At least one additional NBRC credential.  On-line teaching experience.
