Description of Duties

**POSITION BEGINS 05/12/2021, ENDS 08/6/2021**

This position serves as the initial office contact to alumni, friends/supporters, students, staff and visitors. They aid those who want to learn more about the services that Alumni Engagement and Development offer including: alumni benefits; how to donate; upcoming alumni and development programming, volunteer opportunities, etc. They provide essential office support including: answer and direct phone calls, file/scan, create documents, data entry, run errands, etc. In addition, they remain knowledgeable of the upcoming events calendar and the essential duties of the office.

This position will assist with the preparation and logistics of events related to the Alumni and Development Offices, including but not limited to; Alumni Weekend, Community Leadership Celebration, Presidential Society Dinner, Student Philanthropy events, virtual programming and other University Advancement events. As well, they will assist in the organization and completion of thank you calls and acknowledgement letters to University benefactors and event attendees.

And finally, performs other tasks as assigned for the smooth and efficient functioning of the Alumni and Development Offices. Traditional work availability would be Monday – Friday between 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM with some nights and weekends required.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Great customer service attitude is required
  • Basic knowledge of the University & campus
  • Ability to work with a diverse population
  • Computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Understanding of developing self
  • Sense of humor

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous office or customer service experience
  • Good interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Some campus involvement experience
