Spanish Student Accepts Second Year as Fulbright Scholar in South Korea!
Congratulations to Rebecca Schwalb! She recently started her second year as a Fulbright Teaching Assistant in South Korea.
I learned about Fulbright through faculty and staff members here at Marywood. Through my experiences in foreign language studies and international traveling I discovered a love for visiting new places and people. So far I have traveled to Tanzania, Guatemala, and Ecuador while studying Spanish and Arabic. I have been working with diverse populations through service and tutoring for many years and yearn to continue these activities. An English Teaching Assistantship seemed like a great opportunity to apply for and meet all these different interests. My acceptance into the program as a Fulbright Scholar allows me the opportunity to participate in a cultural exchange to South Korea for the next 12 months. In that time I will be teaching English and serving as a cultural ambassador. Upon my return to the United States I intend to pursue graduate studies.
