Marywood University opens the Office of Military and Veteran Services under the directorship of Lauren Williams. This office assists student veterans navigate paperwork on benefits, offers confidential counseling, and coordinates information sessions, helping to ease the transition from military to student life.

Twenty-five GED students earn their high school diploma through the Marywood GED Program. The Pennsylvania Department of Education's Bureau of Adult Basic Literacy Education has awarded Marywood funding to deliver adult literary services and GED preparation courses.

DR. Frances M. Zauhar becomes Dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. Before coming to Marywood, she was Humanities Division Chair at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown and a tenured faculty member in the English Department.
