Planning is underway for Kidstuff 2011 an annual mini-carnival for underprivileged children between the ages of four and eight in the Scranton area. This year, Kidstuff will take place Saturday, April 9th, between 12:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. in the Latour Conference Room.
We rely on student clubs and organizations to sponsor games and crafts booths. Each club is responsible for setting up its own booth by 11:30AM, manning it between noon and 3:00, and cleaning up after. Prizes are given to every child who participates that day. If your club is distributing prizes, you are responsible for making, purchasing, or soliciting donated prizes. Please plan to have enough prizes for up to 150 children. Also, everyone who will be participating in Kidstuff must purchase a T-shirt for $5, which also covers the cost of a child’s T-shirt.
Every year, Kidstuff has been a tremendous success due to the support of our student clubs and organizations. We need your help again this year! Please discuss this opportunity at your club’s next meeting, and remember that this is a great spring semester community service project for your organization. If you are interested in sponsoring a booth, please return the form at the bottom of this letter to the Campus Ministry/Collegiate Volunteers office in the Swartz Center for Spiritual Life, Loughran Hall, no later than Friday, March 25, 2011; this is the extended deadline. Space is limited, so respond as soon as possible to reserve your table. Your club will receive more detailed information after we have received this form.
