District 9 Festival Orchestra to Perform at Marywood

On Friday, January 11, at 7 p.m., in the Sette LaVerghetta Center for Performing Arts, approximately 100 students from high schools in Lackawanna, Luzerne, Wayne, Wyoming, and Susquehanna counties will perform a concert. General admission is $5, and students are $3.

Nathanial F. Parker, D.M.A., director of orchestral activities and assistant professor of music, will be guest conductor and clinician for the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA) District 9 Festival Orchestra.

String, woodwind, brass, and percussion instrumentalists were selected for the orchestra through a competitive audition process.
