Marywood's Department of Psychology and Counseling provides a wide range of programs designed to serve the interests and professional orientations of varied human service practitioners. We have been involved in the training of psychologists, counselors, and other mental health professionals for over 50 years.

For the undergraduate psychology major, this training includes learning experiences that prepare students for a variety of careers. Our undergraduate program also prepares students for graduate study and offers specialized tracks in:

Our graduate programs train students to develop and implement assessment and intervention strategies that assist clients in attaining a higher quality of life. We help our students understand the varied roles, obligations, and ethics of human service providers. We encourage them to become practitioners who strive to maintain the highest standards of professional conduct while continually updating their skills in chosen concentration areas.

At the graduate level, we offer a variety of master's degrees in both psychology and counseling. We also offer a post-master's Ed.S. and doctoral training in clinical psychology (Psy.D.).
