This course examines the nature of the various problems confronted in business and how systems thinking and systems development concepts, methodologies, tools and techniques can effectively deal with them. Topics include characteristics of complex ill-structured problematic situations, appreciative systems, systems thinking, inquiry systems, decision traps, constituency identification, problem formulation, requirements determination, project definition and system study, design and implementation, and project management.
