Mother Theresa Maxis, IHM Center for Truth, Racial Healing, & Transformation

The Association of American Colleges and Universities (AAC&U) is partnering with higher education institutions to develop Truth, Racial Healing & Transformation (TRHT) Campus Centers, including Marywood University's, which prepare the next generation of strategic leaders and critical thinkers to promote racial healing, affirm human dignity, and to dismantle the belief in a hierarchy of human value. The name of Marywood's TRHT Center honors the co-founder of the IHM Congregation, Mother Theresa Maxis, IHM, a mixed race woman with a pioneering spirit, who devoted her life, vocation, and work to promoting justice and serving the poor.
