Isabella DiBileo Selected for American Counseling Association Award
Marywood University graduate student in counselor education (PreK-12 School Counseling) at Marywood University, Isabella DiBileo, Scranton, has been selected as the runner-up of the 2018 Ross Trust Future School Counselors Essay Competition presented by the American Counseling Association (ACA).
The Ross Trust Future School Counselor Graduate Student Award is presented annually to a graduate degree candidate enrolled in counseling-related studies at an accredited university leading to a career as a professional school counselor at the elementary, middle, or high school level. This year’s essay theme was, “The role of the professional school counselor in promoting career and college readiness with under-served and underrepresented students.”
Ms. DiBileo will receive the award at the American Counseling Association 66th Annual Conference and Expo in Atlanta, Georgia, April 25-29. She will be recognized by ACA alongside fellow counseling professionals as contributing to the future of counseling.
Ms. DiBileo will graduate from Marywood University’s College of Education and Human Development with a master of science degree in counselor education, PreK-12 school counseling, in May. Upon graduation, she hopes to practice as a professional school counselor in Northeast Pennsylvania. She is the daughter of Gary and Christine DiBileo.
The American Counseling Association, based in Alexandria, Va., is the world’s largest organization representing professional counselors in various practice settings. Dedicated to promoting public confidence and trust in the counseling profession, ACA provides leadership, training, continuing education, and advocacy services for its more than 55,000 members.
