ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge

National Voter Registration Day Success

Marywood University celebrated National Voter Registration Day with its Pacers to the Polls initiative in September 2020. Marywood joined the more than 2,000 organizations that partnered for cross-country efforts to register voters well in advance of Election Day this past November.

A historic presidential election took place, and every eligible American voter was encouraged to exercise her or his right to be heard at the ballot box, and National Voter Registration Day proved to be the right day to start by getting as many students registered as possible. This is why communities across the country used the day to increase voter participation.

In addition, Marywood University joined more than 160 college presidents and chancellors in committing to full student voter registration and participation in all elections through the ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge (All IN). To support full student voter participation of all eligible students, ALL IN and its Higher Education Presidents Council launched a call to action for higher education presidents and chancellors to fully engage students in electoral participation. Sister Mary Persico, IHM, Ed.D., is among the more than 160 other college presidents who have signed the President's Commitment.

Marywood University received a gold seal from the All In Campus Democracy Challenge for its 2016 election turnout, and a silver seal for its turnout in 2018. Marywood is one of only 5 institutions to achieve a gold seal for 2016, however this status can change as additional retroactive NSLVE reports are completed.
