Students Lobby for Music Education in Washington, D.C.

Two Marywood University music education students, Harlow Alexander and Taylor Morgan, recently traveled to Washington, D.C. to meet with members of the House of Representatives to lobby for music education.

Ms. Alexander and Ms. Morgan were recently elected to posts in the Pennsylvania Collegiate Music Educators Association (PCMEA) at the Pennsylvania Music Educators Annual In-Service Conference. Ms. Alexander, sophomore, Dupont, Pa., was elected state president, and Ms. Morgan, freshman, Jermyn, Pa., was elected Region IV coordinator.

PCMEA consists of a select group of students, representing each district in Pennsylvania. Each year, PCMEA members elect a president-elect, regional coordinators, and a technology coordinator. The president nominates a secretary. This executive board meets periodically throughout the year and represents all pre-music educators throughout Pennsylvania.
