About me:  I joined the Marywood Admissions Staff in 2010.  I completed my Bachelor’s Degree in Counseling and Human Services at the University of Scranton and am currently completing my Master’s Degree in Health Services Administration here at Marywood.  I grew up in Piscataway, New Jersey.

My interests: I love cooking and baking!  My sister recently got me Mastering the Art of French Cooking by Julia Child…I’ve tried some of the simple recipes and am working towards the harder ones.  I also love to read and am always looking for a good book.  I am a big college football fan and being from the Garden State, I follow Rutgers University every season.  Other interests include spending time with my family, friends, and my husband, and keeping up with my nieces and nephews…it is never a dull moment with them!

My favorite thing about Marywood:  My favorite thing about Marywood has to be the wonderful people that work here.  You can’t walk across campus without bumping into a familiar face or getting a friendly hello from someone.

My favorite place on campus: My favorite place on campus is the Rotunda in the Liberal Arts Center.  Marywood actually has one of the largest Rotundas in the State of Pennsylvania!  Check out the Marywood website for some beautiful pictures and history of the murals inside the Rotunda.

You'd never guess: I am addicted to TLC’s Extreme Couponing!  I love grocery shopping and seeing how much money I save at the end of the trip with coupons.  I’ve actually gotten pretty good!  However, I don’t think I’ll ever want to get to the extreme of the people on the show…no one needs twenty years’ worth of mustard and toothpaste.

My best advice: Do your homework!  Research your schools and make a list of what factors are important to you…size, distance from home, tuition/room and board, academics, clubs, athletics etc.  It is usually quite easy to narrow down your list of options.  All your schools should be similar in the points on your list of important factors.  Visit these schools and do everything you possibly with an Admissions Counselor, take a campus tour, try out the food, talk to a faculty member, do an overnight visit, etc.  Doing these activities is the best way to decide on what school is the perfect fit for you.  Good Luck!

Never select a school based on rankings or name. There are over 4,000 accredited universities in the U.S. and chances are you have not heard of over 90% of them.
