Music Students Win Prestigious Awards at National Competition
The University’s National Association for Music Education Collegiate Chapter (NAfME-C) was recently selected to receive two national awards, the Chapter of Excellence for its Music Program and the Professional Achievement Award.
The music program at Marywood University has been selected in the Best Music Program Category for the University’s National Association for Music Education Collegiate Chapter for its work with the Wind and String Celebrations.
Harlow Alexander, Dupont, Pa., junior music education student and NAfME chapter president, has been selected for the Professional Achievement Award. Ms. Alexander was chosen for her commitment and dedication to NAfME and Music Education. This recognition is awarded to collegiate members who have served in an exemplary manner.
The purpose of the Professional Achievement Award is to recognize individual collegiate members for their commitment and dedication to NAfME and music education and for serving their chapters in an exemplary manner.
Both Marywood University’s NAfME-C Chapter and Harlow Alexander will be formally recognized on stage at the NAfME National Assembly in Washington, D.C., as part of the NAfME Awards program in June 2018.
