Before Beginning the Application Process
- Nutrition and Dietetics Internships/Distance Education Dietetic Internship Applicants:
Submit application through Dietetic Internship Centralized Application Services (DICAS) and also complete the Dietetic Internship Match through D & D Digital.
- Physician Assistant Applicants: Must submit the application for admission through the Central Application Service for Physician Assistants (CASPA).
Required Documents
Step 1. Applicants upload the following documents:
- Personal Statement
- A copy of the Passport
- Resume
Step 2. Another individual, instead of the applicant, submit the following documents:
- 2-3 letters of recommendation must be sent directly from the recommender.
- Official transcripts must be sent directly from the counselor at the institution. Transcripts from the bachelor's program and all previous institutions are required.
- English proficiency test scores must be sent directly from the testing agency to Marywood University. One score report from TOEFL, IELTS, PTE, or Duolingo. These documents may be emailed to internationaladm@marywood.edu or mail to: Marywood University, International Admissions, 2300 Adams Ave, Scranton, PA 18509, USA.
Step 3. Only applicants admitted to the on-campus program will be required to upload the following documents:
English Proficiency Test
Marywood University requires that prospective graduate/doctoral students achieve one of the following English proficiency requirements:
- Minimum TOEFL score: 79 (81 for M.S. Biotechnology applicants)
- Minimum IELTS band score of 6.0 (6.5 for M.S. Biotechnology applicants)
- Minimum PTE Academic score: 53 (54 for M.S. Biotechnology applicants)
- Minimum Duolingo score: 100 (105 for M.S. Biotechnology applicants)
Please submit official English proficiency scores taken within the last two years.
Applicants to the ESL Post-Baccalaureate Teaching certification program must demonstrate proficiency on the ACTFL.
English Proficiency Test Waiver Eligibility
Based on the document provided, you may qualify for an English Proficiency Exam waiver through one of three primary pathways. Below is a breakdown of the requirements:

ACT English + Reading: 37 or higher
GRE Verbal: 150 or higher

U.S. Education:
You studied in the United States for more than two years at the secondary (high school) or university level.
International University:
Applicants may be eligible for an English proficiency waiver if they have earned a degree from an accredited international university located in an approved country where English is the primary language of instruction. To qualify, the institution must submit an official letter directly to our office confirming that English was the language of instruction.

Reference Letters
Two letters of reference from persons familiar with your educational background. Please note that three letters of recommendation are required for students applying to the Architecture, Interior Architecture, Psychology (General Theoretical), and Ed.S. in School Psychology programs. Letters should be sent to Marywood University's Office of Graduate Admissions with an official signature across the sealed flap of the envelope. Reference forms can also be submitted electronically via the online application. If you have not attended college for three or more years, please contact the Office of Graduate Admissions for guidance.
Translation of Non-English Transcripts
In addition to sending official transcripts, all non-English transcripts must be translated by a certified translator such as World Education Services, Educational Credential Evaluators, and International Education Evaluations, LLC. All information on the transcript must be translated verbatim.

Financial Documents
Financial documents, the Certificate of Finances and bank statements, are only required if you are admitted. They are not needed for the initial application review.
• Both documents must show an account balance and be dated within the last 60 days.
• Please make sure the information on both the bank statement and the Certificate of Finance is consistent.
