Doctor of Psychology Program Ranks among Top 25 in the U.S.
Marywood University offers one of the top 25 doctor of psychology degree programs in the nation, according to a recent ranking by Online Psychology Degrees. Eleventh of the 25 universities ranked for doctor of psychology degree programs, Marywood is the only university in Northeast Pennsylvania to merit a ranking on the list.
The standings were formulated using a list of American Psychological Association accredited doctor of psychology (Psy.D.) programs in clinical psychology. Only those schools with national recognition for overall excellence were considered. Other key ranking criteria included: average annual cost of graduate attendance, college ranking by a national ranking body, number of degree options or areas of specialization, and accreditation.
Marywood's Psy.D. program was also recently recognized by Best Counseling Degrees. Marywood’s program was ranked 26th in the category of 50 Best Psy.D. Programs in Clinical Psychology in 2016.
The clinical psychology doctoral program at Marywood, established in 2001, trains students to provide state-of-the-art, ethical, humane, and culturally-sensitive clinical services to diverse populations. Students are taught to be research-informed practitioners with general skills who pursue development in specific areas through electives, practicum sites, internships, and post-doctoral training.

Pennsylvania has passed Act 144, a landmark law recognizing "Certified Interior Designer" as a protected title, requiring professionals to hold a four-year degree and certification through the Council for Interior Design Qualification (CIDQ). This legislation, signed by Governor Josh Shapiro, highlights the critical role of interior designers in ensuring public health, safety, and welfare, while distinguishing the profession from interior decorators.
