Graphic design undergraduate students took top awards at the annual Northeastern Pennsylvania American Advertising Awards (ADDY) ceremony, which was held at the Radisson Lackawanna Station Hotel, Scranton, Pa. In addition, Gabrielle Creazzo won two Silver ADDY Awards for her package designs. Students competed against five other local colleges for the awards.
Faculty and undergraduate students represented winning entries in the professional competition as well. Art Department faculty members won a Silver ADDY for a team poster project illustrated by Dennis Corrigan, assistant professor of art, and designed by Chris Medley, associate professor of graphic design, and John Meza, associate professor of art. Niki DiGaetano, Tannersville, Pa., graphic design major, won a Community Spotlight Award for her internship design work for the local nonprofit ScrantonMade.
Gold awards will be forwarded to the District II competition, where student works will be judged from Pennsylvania, Maryland, New Jersey, Delaware, and New York.
The American Advertising Awards is the advertising industry’s largest and most representative competition, attracting more than 40,000 entries every year in local American Advertising Federation competitions. The mission of the ADDYs is to recognize and reward the creative spirit of excellence in the art of advertising.
