Col. (Ret.) Lorraine R. Breen
Col. (Ret.) Breen, who presently serves as Special Assistant to the President, Business Operations, Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, Bethesda, Md., has demonstrated leadership success in the health care, food service, and military professions. She previously served as a Marywood trustee from 2007-2019 before her current election. Following her graduation from Marywood with a Bachelor of Science degree, magna cum laude, in Nutrition and Dietetics, she traversed the nation numerous times and traveled around the world, while performing in prestigious positions of senior health care leadership in both the civilian and military sectors, nationally and internationally. Along the way, she also earned a Master of Science degree in Human Resources Management from Chapman University, Orange, California, and a Masters of Science degree in National Resource Strategy form the National Defense University, Washington, DC.
A member of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta, Col. (Ret.) Breen was invested into the Order as a Dame of Malta in 2018. She is the 1st Vice Regent, Pentagon Chapter, of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution. She has earned multiple awards and achievements, including the Defense Superior Service Medal, Legion of Merit, Meritorious Service Medal with four Oak Leaf Clusters and scores of other prestigious military awards. Additionally, Col. (Ret.) Breen was the keynote speaker at Marywood’s Opening Convocation in 2013 and was awarded an honorary degree during the ceremony. The Marywood Alumni Association recognized her with the 2013 Award of Excellence in Health and Human Services.
